Generic ERP demos skip the part that makes your industry hard

Standard ERPNext and Odoo cover the basics well. The gaps are always in the trade-specific details: batch recalls, retention on progress bills, proof of delivery. Pick your industry to see which modules people build first.

ERP for construction

Your jobs run for months. You bill against progress claims, hold retention from subcontractors while clients hold it from you, and learn a project lost money about six weeks after it was too late to fix. The project module that ships with most ERPs wasn't designed with any of that in mind.

  • Retention tracked in two directions, badly
  • Variations agreed on site, approved never
  • Cost to complete the site team doesn't believe

ERP for distribution

You buy in containers, sell in cartons, and live on a margin thin enough that a badly split freight bill or an unclaimed supplier rebate wipes out a product line's profit for the quarter. Your ERP knows exactly what you sold. It's much vaguer about what the stock really cost you.

  • Landed cost split on the wrong driver
  • Rebates tracked in a spreadsheet, or not at all
  • Back orders go to whoever shouts loudest

ERP for education

You run a school or a small group of them. Admissions happen in a form builder, fees in the accounts package, and attendance on paper registers someone types up on Friday. Parents ring the office to ask what they owe. Most school ERP projects start from exactly this point.

  • Concessions calculated by hand
  • Fee reminders that feel random
  • Transport fees out of step with routes

ERP for food & beverage

You make or distribute food and drink. Every ingredient arrives with a supplier lot number, every finished batch has a best-before date, and one day a supplier will ring to say a lot was contaminated. How fast you can name every affected customer tells you whether your ERP is doing its job.

  • Traces that take a day instead of an hour
  • FEFO on paper, FIFO in practice
  • Customers with their own shelf-life rules

ERP for healthcare

You run a clinic, a group of practices or a small diagnostics lab. Bookings live in one tool, billing in another, and consumables in a spreadsheet the head nurse updates when she has a spare minute. You want one system, and you want straight answers about what's realistic before anyone says the word "compliant".

  • Prepaid packages the front desk can't reconcile
  • Late cancellations that cost you a slot
  • Consumables used but never charged

ERP for logistics

You run trucks, a warehouse, or both. Jobs arrive by phone and email, drivers carry paper trip sheets, and proof of delivery comes back crumpled a week later, which is when invoicing finally starts. Fuel cards, tolls and driver advances get reconciled whenever accounts has a quiet afternoon.

  • Invoicing waits for paperwork
  • Fuel you can't account for
  • Detention and waiting time never billed

ERP for manufacturing

Your BOMs are in the system and work orders get raised on time. But rework is tracked on a whiteboard, scrap gets booked on Friday from memory, and finance has stopped trusting the job cost report. That gap between the planning office and the floor is what we build modules for.

  • Scrap booked from memory
  • Rework that never appears in the system
  • Subcontracted steps you can't see

ERP for retail

The tills work fine. What doesn't is everything after closing time. Stock counts never match, transfers between shops are arranged over WhatsApp, and the buyer reorders from a report that's two days old. Most retail ERP trouble starts at the back door, not the counter.

  • Transfers with no receiving step
  • Size and colour chaos
  • Returns without a receipt

Your next module is one paragraph away

Write it the way you’d explain it to a new hire. We’ll turn it into an app you can read, test and install.
